April 2009, I will be receiving a Master’s Degree in Human Computer Interaction from the University of Michigan, where I gained invaluable project experience in all aspects of the software design process. My passions for business, technology and design drive my career goal of improving the User Experience as an Information Architect. In addition to visual design, my goal is to create simple innovative solutions for browser applications. As a User Experience Designer, I will apply my project work in web development, usability and information technology.
My passion for art, technology and business underlie my desire to surprise and delight clients with useful content that will keep bringing them back for more. Professionally I have been in the design business for over twenty years where I have pushed the envelope in interactive design, industrial design, interior design, mechanical design and fine art. All of which require creative problem solving. Strong communication and intuition empower me to interact with customers at ease, which is imperative in effectively gathering vital information in understanding client’s goals, needs and underlying issues by contextual inquiries, interviews and usability studies.
During my professional career I have brought products to life from art to part. My last corporate role was in product strategy where I collaborated with designers, engineers, marketing, materials management and others. I have actually worked many of those roles. Currently I am working on many exciting interactive projects including an independent study on Ruby-on-Rails and Usability testing for a major automotive company's web application. I have produced samples of several interactive web pages which include prototypes, personas, taskflows, scenarios & wireframes for projects developed using Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, ActionScript 3.0, Javascript, CSS and HTML which may be viewed at www.coutsuzinteractive.com.
